As a member company of the CRSMCA, the following safety videos are available on a free loan basis. To request video(s), send your request to losscontrol@miains.com. You may  borrow up to 2 videos at any given time and must return videos within 15 days of receipt. Lost or damaged videos will incur a charge not to exceed the replacement cost of the video(s).

Better Back, Health, Life

Featuring Francine York, actress and fitness buff interviews experts in back injury prevention and nutrition. Includes how to care for your back; back exercises that can be done at work; and a “workout” portion of exercises that can help anyone improve back fitness. Although this video may be too long to be used in its entirety in a normal safety meeting, individual segments on body mechanics, exercise and nutrition can be viewed separately. (56 min.)

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Describes carpal tunnel syndrome, how to prevent CTS, and what employees can do to reduce the effects of CTS.

Cause and Avoidance of Accidents

This video looks at the causes of accidents and how companies can develop an accident avoidance system or program. Video is designed for employees to show how their unsafe acts or behavior are the cause of most accidents and how they can improve the reduction of accidents. This is an excellent training program for all employees. Discusses electrical safety, grounding of electrical equipment, power cords, extension cords, double insulation, three prong plugs, wires, and a good safety overview of electrical safety in the workplace. Applies to office workers as well as industrial workers.

Employee Fall Protection

Even a short fall can cause serious injury or even death. This great training tool covers body harnesses, shock absorbing lanyards, swing effect, rope grabs, retractable lanyards, and more. (21 min.)

This video meets the new OSHA academic standards for training forklift operators in the new rules. Life Saving Through Air Monitoring

One of the most important aspects of avoiding risks in confined spaces and other similar locations is to be aware of the potential hazards in the breathing air of the worker. This video discusses the primary hazards and methods for monitoring.

Lockout/Tagout for Affected/Authorized Personnel

This new training program is designed for machine operators, personnel who work near machines but do not operate machines, and maintenance personnel. Updated to meet most recent training and regulatory requirements. Explains hazardous energy sources, lock requirements, tag requirements, and auditing machinery. Explains requirements for a mandatory written program and training documentation. (17 min.)

Machine Guarding

Emphasizes machine guarding is not foolproof and requires employee responsibility when working with machinery and moving parts. The last segment of the program addresses safety concerns regarding employees who work with or near conveyor systems.

NFPA Hazardous Materials Labeling and Identification

NFPA labeling and ID program defined and stresses the importance of understanding these signs and placards. Firefighters have used this program for their training.

This is the most comprehensive safety orientation program ever produced. Contains a large number of topics, including: employee safety responsibility; personal protective equipment; bloodborne pathogens; safe lifting; sanitation and personal hygiene; electrical safety, machines and equipment; ergonomics; and much more. NOTE: If this video is used to provide consistent safety instruction to new-hire employees, it is strongly recommended that it is followed by safety-related instruction that is specific to your operation. Slips and Falls In The Trucking Industry

Most injuries in trucking are caused by truck drivers slipping and falling from their vehicles during entry and exit from the vehicle. This training program was developed to train truckers how to properly enter/exit the vehicle, using the three point triangulation system, in addition to the proper footwear and other safety basics. This program, if implemented will greatly reduce accidents and injuries from trucking slips and falls. Good for all truck drivers, not just 18 wheelers. (13 min.)

Supervisor Responsibilities in Injury Claims

Video is designed for supervisors. Program teaches job responsibilities when filing injury claims. Paperwork is extremely important, particularly if the injured employee doesn’t get paid on time, doesn’t understand benefits, complaints, seeks an attorney, and the company doesn’t meet federal and/or state accident reporting requirements. Excellent program to refresh the importance of proper reporting, from accident investigation through final paperwork on all injuries.

This is the most comprehensive and up-to-date back injury prevention video on the market. SYSTEM LIFTING means you must be aware of your entire back anatomy and lifting technique to make sure you are lifting properly with the entire SYSTEM. Just learning back anatomy is not enough; just lifting with your back straight is not enough. (34 min.)

The Alert Driver… A Truckers Guide to Sleep, Fatigue and Rest in a 24 Hour Society

This video includes an informational booklet which must be returned with the video. The video and booklet address the hazards of fatigue for professional drivers and the strategies that drivers can apply to ensure that proper rest is attained.

Trucking Safety Orientation
